Make Yourself...An Experiential Producer

In 2008, the recession hit and companies were left with no other choice, but to drastically downsize. Cat Choate, Global PR Director for Quicksilver at the time, realized she had two options when she’d lost her job: Dwell on the unchangeable circumstances or create her very own events company. Tune-in to hear how Cat chose not to fall into the victim mindset and instead build a successful business producing events for major brands.

About Cat

Cat Choate is the former Head of Global PR & Events for California surf heritage brand, Quiksilver, Inc. and Senior Executive at New York City PR powerhouse, LaForce & Stevens. And for over a decade, she developed exceptional global PR and event campaigns for many of the world’s leading fashion, entertainment, technology, and sports brands. In Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Miami, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and Australia, Cat has worked with the elite in almost every industry (e.g. music talent, fashion designers, top athletes); all the while, infusing every event and experience with originality, creativity, fun, and organization.

In 2012, Cat launched CC Events—an event planning company that works with various brands, experiential agencies, and individuals. She currently divides her time between Newport Beach, CA and New York; which she says allows her to bring an understanding of both east and west coast sensibilities to her work.

When creating an experience, you have to always think about the client.
