Did you know children at the age of three can understand the importance of saving and spending? For April Literacy Month, we spoke with a special guest on the Make Yourself podcast...Jeannine Glista, creator of the Emmy winning show Biz Kids. Jeannine shared with us how she teaches financial literacy and entrepreneurship to children; helping them manage their finances, and teaching them how to be financially responsible.

About Jeannine

Jeannine Glista is an independent media producer with a special focus on social innovation projects.  She's best known as Co-Creator and Executive Producer of Biz Kid$, a national public TV series that teaches kids about money and business.  Biz Kid$ is the recipient of two Daytime Emmy Awards (17 times nominated), an Environmental Media Award, a Silver Telly Award, two Parents' Choice Awards, and more. Jeannine is also co-author of a book for tweens titled 'How To Turn $100 Into $1 Million', which reached #1 in it's category on Amazon.  Jeannine brings over 20 years of production and project management experience in the fields of media production, marketing and communications. This, combined with her MBA and background in business, means she is adept at managing creative teams and ensuring each project comes in on time and on budget.

Jeannine Glista is the producer and owner of BizKids. Her motivation behind starting this show is to bring more financial literacy to children all over the world. She realized how children are not given the opportunity while they are in school to learn about being an entrepreneurship or even the financial world. The basic tools and resources for being financially ready as an adult, has ceased to exist with the education system.

Biz Kid$ is a national financial education initiative based on the Emmy Award-winning public television series about kids, money, and business. The series includes 65 episodes and reaches one million viewers per episode.
